Located on Corio Bay (an extension of Port Phillip Bay), Geelong, a port city is the second largest city in Victoria, Australia. The city was founded in 1910 and experienced rapid growth following World War II. This town's name is derived from the Aboriginal term jillong, which means “the place of the native companion,”. It was formally declared a town in 1838 and incorporated as a municipality in 1849. Today, Geelong is an emerging hub for healthcare, education, and advanced manufacturing.
